Heart Healthy Taco Meat
Recipe by Dawn Boyle, a 7 year Warrior Woman member...and going strong!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground lean turkey meat
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 large onion
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/3 cup tomato paste
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 can lack beans
- 1 cup salsa
Instructions
- Brown meat in skillet (I rinse the meat in a strainer, then put it back on the stove) add onion and garlic and spices, stir in tomato paste and water and simmer 10 min. Add black beans and salsa and simmer another few min.
- This meat is good on Nachos, quesadilla or tacos. Add guacamole sour cream and salsa if needed.
